When Element Labs stunned the Creative LED world with Cobra’s unibody design, the product was heralded as being incredibly lightweight compared to other products on the market at the time. Never ones to miss an opportunity to spark an industry disruption, however, many of our mechanical engineers and designers were part of a brain trust that soon started trying to think up ways they could make an LED product that was even more feather-light…

In 2012, the Revolution Display RS Series became the first tile to incorporate aerospace-grade materials into LED frames. Creating an ultralight framing system that allowed for quick and easy assembly as well as minimal structure, RS5 set a new industry standard. While at Revolution Display, many of our team members went on to push the boundaries of feather-lightness further with the creation of the Carbon and Air products.

At Megapixel, we are constantly looking for ways to source materials that allow display systems to perform beyond our clients’ imaginations. Sometimes this entails experimenting with carbon-fiber race car parts, and other times it means consulting with engineers at NASA.
